Cookie policy, ivents.net

1. What cookies are
Cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage, tags) are files or identifiers stored on your device when you visit the site. They let the site work, remember preferences and, if you allow it, measure audience.
2. Who is responsible
The controller is identified in the Privacy policy. For privacy or cookie questions: geral@ivents.net (subject: Cookies / Privacy).
3. Legal basis (EU / Portugal)
- Strictly necessary cookies: legitimate interest / contractual necessity to provide the online service (they do not require consent).
- Analytics cookies: prior consent, under the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time through the cookie banner or the cookie settings.
- Marketing cookies: prior consent, under the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR. They are used only if you accept them. You can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie banner or the cookie settings.
We use Google Consent Mode v2 with a default of denied. The Google Analytics code (GA4, loaded directly, without Google Tag Manager) is loaded and run only after analytics consent. If you refuse or choose “Necessary only”, there are no network requests to Google Analytics. If you accept analytics later in the same visit, interactions from that visit that were waiting are counted from that moment. The advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization) stay denied until you accept the marketing category.
4. Categories we use
4.1 Necessary (always active)
They allow browsing, security, load balancing and remembering your consent choice (so the question is not asked again on every page).
| Name / type (examples) | Purpose | Typical duration | Who |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie banner consent cookie | Store necessary, analytics and marketing preferences | up to 12 months (or as set by the cookie banner) | IVENTS |
| Technical hosting cookies (Vercel) | Deliver the site, security, performance | session / short term | Vercel |
| Strictly technical preferences | Language or UI state where applicable | session / short term | IVENTS |
The exact list is in the cookie banner (it may be updated without changing the substance of this policy).
4.2 Analytics (prior consent)
Only after Accept analytics (or the equivalent) on the banner.
| Tool | Purpose | Typical data | Who |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (via the Google Analytics code, direct) | Measure visits, pages, aggregated device and browser, site performance | Online IDs, pages viewed, technical events, device data; IP may be truncated according to the configuration | Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC (sub-processor) |
- We do not use analytics for personalised advertising at the moment.
- You can refuse analytics and still use the site. In that case the Google Analytics code is not loaded and there is no measurement.
4.3 Marketing (prior consent)
Optional cookies for campaigns and advertising. They stay off until you accept them. You can refuse and still use the site. A tool in this category runs only after you accept, and only once it is on the list of active tools.
4.4 Active tools
- Analytics: Google Analytics
- Marketing: none
5. Google Analytics: data processing and transfers
- Google acts as a sub-processor for Google Analytics when analytics is authorised. We do not use Google Tag Manager on this site.
- Processing is governed by the Google Ads Data Processing Terms and the applicable Google data processing terms and, where relevant, by standard contractual clauses and Google’s additional measures for international transfers.
- Configuration: Consent Mode v2 (default denied). The Google Analytics code runs only after prior consent. IP anonymisation or redaction follows the options available on the account. Event data retention follows the Google Analytics account.
- Further information: Google Privacy and the Consent Mode documentation.
6. How to manage consent
- On the first visit, the cookie banner asks you to choose.
- You can change or withdraw consent at any time through “Cookie settings” (a link in the footer and/or on the banner).
- You can also delete cookies in the browser. That may ask for consent again.
7. Retention
- Consent preferences: typically 6 to 12 months, after which the banner may appear again.
- Analytics data (if you have consented): according to the retention set on the GA4 property and the applicable legal periods.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (where it applies), and the right to lodge a complaint with the CNPD (https://www.cnpd.pt). Requests: geral@ivents.net.
This cookie policy complements the Privacy policy (where that policy is separate). If there is a conflict about cookies, the more specific text on cookies and the choice recorded in the cookie banner prevail.
9. Changes
We may update this policy (new tools, categories or periods). The date at the top will be revised. Material changes that affect consent will be reflected in the cookie banner.
